A shed fire in East Hemet destroyed motorcycles, tools and other personal belongings Tuesday afternoon before CAL FIRE crews managed to keep the flames from reaching the main residence.
Units were dispatched at approximately 4:10 p.m. to the area of Cedar Avenue and Rosebrugh Lane after a passerby stopped at the home and alerted the resident that their shed was on fire — a warning that gave the occupant time to safely exit the house and contact emergency services.
The shed, which housed motorcycles being actively restored along with an assortment of tools and stored items, was a complete loss. Firefighters arrived in time to stop the fire’s progression, sparing the attached residential structure from further damage.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
